In the framework of an investment tour, the delegation of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Ajara Autonomous Republic led by the Minister, hold official meetings with representatives of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and various business companies at Baku Business Center. Georgian delegation was also accompanied by companies operating in construction and tourism sectors in Ajara region. The Business Forum was opened with welcome remarks of the Minister – Mr. Davit Baladze and President of AZPROMO – Mr. Rufat Mammadov, who addressed the audience with the introduction of business and investment climate of the relevant countries. The Minister also emphasized the importance of existing friendship between two countries as an essential tool for successful business relations. There were discussions about successful projects in Batumi operated by Azerbaijan companies, and their occupation in the region was assessed positively by both sides. Reciprocal visit of Azerbaijan side to Ajara was announced by AZPROMO President in order to see investment projects and infrastructure of the region and to plan future activities in Ajara. After the presentations by the Georgian side informing Baku based companies about investment and touristic opportunities of Ajara, B2B meetings between Azerbaijan and Georgian companies took place at the center, where companies shared their experience in doing business and discussed their possible collaboration in future. Azerbaijan companies expressed their interest in Ajara’s construction and construction materials sectors, tourism and logistic services, and several companies revealed their willingness to join the AZPROMO delegation to visit the region in December.
